Half a century of history and passion that spans generations to become the seal for a family - the Finzi family - that has revolutionised the energy market.

Lagor was founded in 1971 as a manufacturer of cores for electrical transformers, but its roots go way back to the post-war period when a rather bold intuition dawned on Aldo Finzi: to be the first to import grain-oriented steel. Only then would the American discovery, which was under military secrecy, reach Europe. The Italian context is complex and in full evolution. Transformer manufacturers, which until then were self-referential, began to open up to the outside world to procure blanks and cores.

Building a sheet steel slitting centre was a necessity when Giorgio Finzi joined his father in the company. A need that led to the creation of new production lines designed to help customers use the new product.

In 2015 Beatrice Finzi took over as General Manager. The experience she gained in the industry, together with her sister Giulia, led Lagor to consolidate its position worldwide.

Aldo Finzi started his business by importing grain-oriented sheet steel from ARMCO (now AK Steel). He was the first importer of GOES in Italy. He sold the sheet steel to transformer manufacturers who produced the transformer cores in their plants.

1971: GIORGIO FINZI FOUNDS LAGOR S.R.L.

1971: GIORGIO FINZI FOUNDS LAGOR S.R.L.
Giorgio Finzi founded Lagor Srl, the first Italian Core Steel Slitting service. In just a few years, it became the market leader in Transformer Cores for distribution transformers. Passion combined with continuous studies led Mr Finzi to become one of the most important connoisseurs of core steel.

2015: BEATRICE AND GIULIA BEGIN A NEW ERA
After 20 years of experience in the field, Beatrice Finzi became the General Manager of Lagor. Beatrice, with her sister Giulia, use their knowledge of sheet steel and experience gained over the years to meet market challenges, propelling Lagor into a new era.
